It’s official
Which is going to be interesting. ZYB provides easy synchronization, backup and updating of shared contacts. Imity uses bluetooth as a radar, and lets the user know if one of his friends are nearby.
What are ZYB buying? The imity users? I guess most imity users will be on ZYB already so no (ZYB being […]

Its crazy… starwars vs. startreck by lichtfaktorcrew
The technique apperently is stop motio animation, using a 30 sec shutter 6- 8 times pr. videosecond…. That’s a lot of work… even for the genius picasso, who only did stills
another commercial video

By Hugh:
My definition of a geek is, “Somebody who socializes via objects.” When you think about it, we’re all geeks. Because we’re all enthusiastic about something outside ourselves.
It’s not rocket science. But it might be true… As well as this:
“If your product is not a Social Object, why are you in business?”
I guess that strictly […]

This looks very interesting: http://www.emoze.com/
I have downloaded and installed the app - but for some reason it was unable to connect. I’m wonder if it’s because I installed it on my memorycard… Anyways… It looks very good and pro-like.
push-email rocks - but what I really want is a good synchronization tool between google calendar and […]

Love it when geeks flex their muscle:P. M.Gleiser has authored this study (pdf link) about the social networks of heroes and villians in the Marvel Comic book universe (MU). The text is quite technical - but the conclusion is straight forward:
We discussed possible mechanismsthat lead to these effects. In particular the rules of theComic Authority […]

The good folks ask:
About 60 million CAPTCHAs are solved by humans around the world every day. In each case, roughly ten seconds of human time are being spent. Individually, that’s not a lot of time, but in aggregate these little puzzles consume more than 150,000 hours of work each day. What if we could make […]

Is this the new meme? Readers of such books as and properly know about the ingenious implicit association test, which is very good (says most) at revealing cognitive bias’ - such as racism etc.
At projectimplicit the new test is putting your open source feelings to the test…

Another great TED talk, this time by the creator of The Sims:
In a friendly, high-speed presentation, Will Wright demos his newest game, Spore, which promises to dazzle users even more than his previous masterpieces. Here Wright encourages users to create not households, as in The Sims, or cities, as in SimCity, but the entire universe, […]

I’ve been playing around with jaiku and pownce lately (discarded twitter from the start - got a pownce invite through jaiku). And I must admit that I really don’t get it (apparently lifehacker feels the same): While these applications might appeal to the attention seeking internet phalanx of pubescence – I fail to se why […]

Some clever folks have combined freemind with wikipedia. The result is quite interesting from a learning perspective. For this example I’ve looked up appreciative inquiry on the english wikipedia.
Still: The system needs more work - at least more branches - Ideally I want something more like this (from Maps of Science):
Pertainig to map of […]

Sir Ken is my new guru and thought leader. This 19 minutes presentation is a marvel of presentation technique, entertainment and a profoundly moving story.
The case is made that we are facing an degree inflation in our education system. That our education system has a too narrow focus on the brain (professors consider their bodys […]

I just gotta copy and paste this from blog.pmarca:
Where are the shareholders’ mansions? CEOs’ home purchases, stock sales, and subsequent company performance by Crocker Liu of Arizona State and David Yermack of NYU.
We study real estate purchases by major company CEOs, compiling a database of the principal residences of nearly every top executive in the […]

OK - this python application for mobile phones looks cool. Context watcher claims to automatically identify separate social and geo contexts:
Every night, the remote location provider scans the location data per user and tries to identify new clusters. This is done based on a context vector (cellid, geolocation, timeofday, dayofweekm,…), taking into account the transitions between […]

A flickr user has made this set:
Here is a Kwik-E-Mart set up for The Simpsons movie promotion. Opened on 07/01. It’s in Burbank, CA at the corner of Olive & Verdugo in the 91505.
Someone else put up more pics at:

Of cause the body can be improved upon. Over at Darran Barefoot I found this great post.

This TED talk video presentation (07:40 minutes) by a guy I didn’t know is really jaw dropping. And a demo version of the software (photosynth) is already online here.
From the guy’s (aka Blaise Aguera y Arcas) profile page on TED:
Photosynth itself is a vastly powerful piece of software capable of taking a wide variety of […]
