Many ways to show a simple chart

Saw this on the PTS blog

Which is a very nice way to show differences in rural vs. suburb vs. city voting patterns for different states. However - When there is only two mutually exclusive data series,  I like to throw away some infomation. Therefore I have simply subtracted clinton votes from obama votes and plottet the results. I think that for larger datasets (i.e. all 50 states) - this would be a simpler design

    Andreas - To get positive labels along the entire horizontal axis, use a custom number format like this:
    0;0;0;@

    I should have made my chart with lighter lines connecting the markers.
